Beekeeping - The Complete Beekeeping Short Course

This course is for teachers, master gardeners, both new and
experienced beekeepers, students, government employees, and
others who are interested in learning about Honey Bees and
Beekeeping. Its everything you need to know to get started in
beekeeping with at The Complete Beekeeping Short Course sponsored
by the Metro Atlanta Beekeepers Association. Experts, Extension
Teachers, and Master Beekeepers from all over Georgia are the
instructors.

Introduction to Beekeeping Course
Location:  Asa M. Powell, Sr. Expo Center
          197 Temple Avenue in Newnan, Georgia
Cost:  $50.00 in advance or $55.00 at the door, includes instruction,
snacks and lunch, a copy of First Lessons in Beekeeping and 2012
membership in the Coweta Beekeepers Association.
This course is an introduction to beekeeping and includes the
knowledge required to become one. Topics include honeybee
biology; the functions of the colony; equipment; assembling a
beehive; lighting a smoker; best location for a beehive; honeybee
installation; hive inspection; a year in the beehive; potential
problems and how to harvest honey.

Learn the basics about beekeeping. These lessons are designed to
not only educate you on beekeeping, but also help you understand
bee behavior, colonies, and races. Learn about basic equipment,
seasonal management, pest management and honey production for
a total of 24 hours of education!

This course is a thorough one day version of a detailed beginning
beekeeping workshop.  There will be several different stations which
rotate; where small groups will learn the concepts of beginning to
