| The Pickens County Beekeepers Association presents their 2012 Beginner Beekeepers Class Location: The Pickens Presbyterian Church, 311 West Main Street, Pickens Date: The class will consist of 4 Saturdays in February Class One – February 4th Class Two – February 11th Class Three – February 18th Class Four - February 25 Time: 9 AM until 1 PM on each day. Application Instructions 1. Complete the registrant information in the top half of the form. 2. If one person is enrolling, the fee is $50 3. A spouse or a child may attend for an additional $25 per person 4. If you would like the PCBA to obtain an optional testbook (First Lessons in Beekeeping, written by Keith Delaplane, University of Georgia), include $10 per copy 5. Make Checks payable to the PCBA and mail them to the address below: Jeff Friend PCBA Treasurer 401 North B Street Easley SC 29640-2133 Reminders: The first class will be held on February 4 at 9:00 AM at the Pickens Presbyterian Church, located at 311 West Main Street. Please bring note paper and pens, as you will be taking notes during presentations. Refreshments will be provided. Subsequent classes will be held on February 11, 18, and 25. During the February 25 session, participants can take the written test to become a certified beekeeper. Following the test, participants will be able to work with experienced beekeepers to assemble woodenware (hive body, super, frames, etc.). Information will be provided on what tools to bring and how to obtain the hive components from beekeeping supply houses.
